Michael Adams is a partner in the Government Relations Practice Group and brings a wealth of experience in political, governmental and constitutional law to the firm. His practice focuses on counseling and representing federal and state candidates, PACs, issue groups, and donors. He also counsels clients in other state and federal constitutional and regulatory matters.

Michael previously served as in-house General Counsel of the Republican Governors Association (RGA), and continues to serve as General Counsel from Dinsmore. In that role, he has managed compliance and litigation at one of the nation’s foremost political organizations, and guided its efforts to elect Republican governors in the 50 states over six annual election cycles. Additionally, he has consulted with governors, staff and donors to ensure compliance with gift, ethics and pay-to-play laws.

Prior to joining the RGA, Michael served at the U.S. Department of Justice as Deputy Chief Privacy & Civil Liberties Officer and Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General. From 2004 to 2006, he served as Deputy General Counsel to Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher. His knowledge gained from experience at senior levels of state and federal government and national politics provides significant value to the firm’s clients.
