He also has substantial experience in guiding clients through OSHA investigations, and has represented owners, lenders, landlords and tenants in a variety of general commercial real estate matters.
Bill’s practical approach to communicating with clients and learning their operations allows him to provide cost-efficient services that are tailored to their individual needs. He has represented an array of clients in the construction and natural resources industries, using his knowledge of evolving legislation to help clients mitigate risk as they move forward in changing times. He has helped clients with disputes ranging from foreclosure and receivership matters to general construction disputes, and also has steered numerous clients through OSHA investigations, including those related to on-site accidents involving multiple fatalities. He provides counseling to companies regarding work forward plans that effectively assist in all phases of litigation, government investigations and business counseling that arise out of OSHA investigations. He has served on litigation teams as special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, and also has extensive appellate experience, having appeared before the Ohio Supreme Court and other courts of appeal. He frequently works with high-level, complex cases, including one in which he obtained a multi-million dollar verdict on behalf of a client in a complicated series of financial transactions and prevailed on appeal. He also has favorably settled several multi-million dollar construction disputes.
Bill also has done work in the education arena, using his litigation knowledge to serve as special counsel in a case regarding the constitutionality of funding for Ohio schools. He also has worked with clients in the education industry on construction defect issues, bidding processes and contracting matters.
Bill also counsels franchisors and franchisees on franchise and distribution matters, and is a frequent speaker at professional seminars offered by Lorman Educational Services, the Columbus Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, Sterling Educational Services and HalfMoon, LLC.
