Dinsmore & Shohl's team, "Still Practicing" successfully defended their title at the 12th annual Cincinnati Corporate Olympics, "Hoots with the Suits," on Friday, July 11. Twenty-two companies participated in the event on Fountain Square which helped raise more than $30,000 for the Hamilton County Special Olympics.
Dinsmore & Shohl's team was tied for first place with the Frisch's team at the end of regulation and in an exciting finish, won the gold medal in a tiebreaker. The "Still Practicing" team consisted of: Justin Mossburger (Special Olympian), Brian O'Connell (team captain), and members Patrick Burns, Meredith French, Nathan Hagler and Russ Newsom.
O'Connell currently serves on the Board for the Hamilton County Special Olympics, which presently has over 1,800 Special Olympians training and competing in 24 different sports around the county.
"We have a great time doing this every year," said O'Connell. "It's been terrific that we've had the same Special Olympian, Justin, on our team every year. He really gets us motivated for the events; leading us in cheers and joking around with us. Justin even takes charge in deciding what order the team members should do each event. The event is not only a lot of fun, but it also gives me the chance to experience first hand the great work the Special Olympics of Hamilton County does with these athletes all year long."
"Hoots with the Suits," is a major fundraiser for the Hamilton County Special Olympics and was created to build corporate teamwork and support local athletes in the community. This is the sixth year Dinsmore & Shohl has participated in the event.
