Dinsmore & Shohl LLP ranks 134 in The American Lawyer’s (AmLaw) list of top grossing firms in the U.S. Dinsmore jumped 14 spots in the 2016 list and reported a 12.3 percent increase in gross revenue.

The American Lawyer compiles results from its annual survey to track law firm growth and creates its AmLaw 100 and AmLaw 200 rankings. The 2016 report shows a larger divide between the top 100 and the next 100 firms due to a drop in revenue. Gross revenue averaged a 3.2 percent decrease in the AmLaw 200. Dinsmore was one of the few firms that bucked that trend and was featured as one of the “Firms of Note” in the AmLaw 200.

“Ranking 134 is significant because it reflects our growth over the past year and a half. We are very appreciative of the continued support of our clients,” said George H. Vincent, Managing Partner and Chairman.

Earlier this year, The American Lawyer also named Dinsmore as one of the fastest-growing law firms in the country. The firm’s 16.6 percent increase in attorney headcount from 2014 to 2015 landed Dinsmore at sixth on the positive growth list. AmLaw analyzed the top 200 firms in the U.S. to determine which ones had lost and gained the most lawyers in proportion to their size.

For the past six years, Dinsmore has ranked in the 150 top grossing law firms in the country.
