Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Louisville office continues its strategic expansion. Partners Gregory A. Compton and Christopher M. George join Dinsmore from Middleton Reutlinger.

Compton and George focus their practice on corporate services and commercial real estate development and transactions, assisting their clients in navigating through all stages of the business life cycle. From the time a new business entity is formed, through its operational life, and in the structuring of acquisitions, financings, mergers and dispositions, they strive to provide a common sense business approach for their clients.

“Dinsmore’s platform enhances the offerings we will be able to provide to our clients because we now have access to an array of services from coast to coast,” said Compton. “The firm’s commitment to its clients strongly complements our practice. It’s one of many synergies we have.”

In addition to his commercial practice in Kentucky, Ohio and Florida, Greg Compton’s experience includes previously serving as VP, Secretary and General Counsel of Tumbleweed, Inc., the operator of Tumbleweed Tex-Mex Grill & Margarita Bar and other restaurant concepts, and as Senior VP, Secretary and General Counsel of NTS Corporation, a Louisville-based property development, management and syndication company. Compton is a past Chairman of the Board of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, and is a life member and past Director of the Aero Club of Louisville. He earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, and received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Kentucky.

Cris George’s practice includes advising clients in all aspects of business organization and commercial transactions, representing banks, businesses and individuals in commercial real estate financing and transactions, commercial and asset-based lending, mergers and acquisitions, equine law, and in compliance with the complex regulatory requirements of industries such as gaming and health-care. George earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, and received his B.A. from the University of Kentucky.

“We serve essentially as the outside general counsel to many of our clients, and look forward to being able to offer them access to the comprehensive legal resources available at Dinsmore” said George.

“I am very pleased to welcome Greg and Cris to Dinsmore. They both bring extensive experience serving as in-house counsel and as outside counsel, and their perspective adds depth to our corporate group,” said John Selent, Louisville Office Managing Partner. “Dinsmore provides the resources that allow attorneys to hit the ground running. I think that is one reason why we are welcoming so many lateral Partners in Louisville. We have an outstanding group of attorneys here, and the firm has a strong national reputation. It’s a very attractive package for anyone looking to make a change.”
