In our next Breakfast Briefing, Dinsmore’s Labor and Employment attorneys will review how the #MeToo Movement and the new NLRB will affect employers in 2018.

The #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have propelled sexual harassment into the spotlight.  Now, more than ever, employers need to be able to respond promptly and appropriately when faced with such allegations. Janay Stevens and Jan Hensel will explain the prevalence and types of sexual harassment in the workplace, and provide practical advice on how to prevent sexual harassment and conduct harassment investigations.

Additionally, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has released several significant decisions, overruling Obama-era NLRB precedent and affecting all employers. These decisions substantially impact employee handbooks, the joint-employer standard, petitioning of “micro-units” and the duty to bargain over changes to past practices. Kirk Wall and Diana Givand will explain what has changed and what to expect going forward.
