D. Michael Crites, former United States Attorney and managing member with Columbus-based Rich, Crites & Dittmer, LLC, has joined Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. He will join the firm as a Partner in the Litigation Department, working in the firm's Columbus office.

Crites brings more than 22 years experience as a federal, state and local prosecutor to the firm. He was nominated in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan to be the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio. He served in that position from 1986 to 1993 in the administrations of both President Reagan and President George H.W. Bush.

Crites litigation practice includes multi-district civil litigation, product liability defense of trucking and manufacturing businesses and the representation of healthcare providers in state and federal criminal healthcare fraud investigations. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and The Ohio Northern University School of Law.
