Harvey Jay Cohen Elected to Board of the Jewish Community Relations Council

Harvey Jay Cohen, Dinsmore long-time partner, has been elected to the Board of the Jewish Community Relations Council, an affiliate of the Jewish Federation. He also joins the Board of Congregation Etz Chaim, a local synagogue which will be a nationally-unique result of the rare merger of two existing synagogues.

“It is an honor to serve and promote better relations within our wonderfully diverse, local, religious, ethnic, social and cultural fabric,” Cohen explained. “We spend much time with elected officials and other like community organizations that focus on understanding and inclusion,” added Cohen.

At Dinsmore, Cohen practices corporate law encompassing nearly every facet of domestic and international business. He routinely represents outbound U.S. businesses and inbound non-U.S.-owned entities. He chairs the firm’s International Business Practice Group and is the Vice Chair of the Closely Held and Growing Business Enterprises Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA). He also serves on the governing member Council of the IBA, the Global Voice of the Legal Profession. The IBA is the world’s leading organization of international legal practitioners, bar associations and law firms and its members include 55,000 individual lawyers and more than 190 bar associations, spanning over 160 countries.

Cohen has been selected by regional lawyers as the International Trade and Finance Law "Lawyer of the Year” for The Best Lawyers in America: 2014 edition. These peers also elected him to Best Lawyers for Corporate Law and Information Technology Law. Cohen has received the highest possible peer rating for legal ability and ethics, AV preeminent, in Martindale-Hubbell for the last 16 consecutive years since he has been eligible and is recommended for Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts by The Legal 500 United States.
