Joel M. Helmrich Elected to 2 Western Pennsylvania Boards

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Joel M. Helmrich has been elected to the Board of the Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania and was reelected to the Board of Trustees for the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children.

The Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania provides education and information about mediation to the public and provides training for professional mediators.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the board and know the importance of mentoring and educating the community and future mediators of Pennsylvania,” said Helmrich.

Helmrich also will be serving his 24th year as a board member for the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. The school is a leading educational facility and Outreach provider. The School offers a full range of exceptional individualized special education services fostering maximum independence for students with visual impairment, including blindness and other challenges, and provides support and resources to families and the community.

A partner in the corporate department, Helmrich advises clients in a variety of areas, including financial instruments, business sales and acquisitions, and the sale of distress debt. His practice also includes representing creditors in state court collection matters including mortgage foreclosure actions, and the areas of Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies, out of court corporate reorganizations and debt restructurings, and commercial collections.
