Judith Cothorn is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Judith concentrates her practice in intellectual property law with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution, litigation, and counseling. Judith’s knowledge spans from complex chemical processes and mechanical devices to pharmaceutical formulations and computer-based methodologies. She is involved in the representation of entities ranging from small, startup businesses to large, multinational corporations, and she has experience in handling a broad range of intellectual property matters, including drafting patent applications, performing analysis and rendering opinions related to patentability, non-infringement and invalidity, and maintaining intellectual property portfolios. In addition to her experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Judith also has experience with patent and intellectual property litigation matters.
Prior to joining Dinsmore & Shohl, Judith had practical engineering experience, which included working in the fiber optics industry at Corning Incorporated, and she has worked at the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner.
