Michael C. Merrick


Michael is a litigator and advisor in the areas of business and fiduciary litigation and health care law. He is a partner and member of the firm's Litigation Department and Health Care Practice Group.

Michael has spent much of his career helping clients resolve business and fiduciary disputes. He represents clients in litigation and dispute resolution involving breaches of contract or warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, estates and trusts, unfair competition, trade secrets, and enforcement of noncompetition agreements and other restrictive covenants. Michael handles trials, injunction hearings, and appeals in state and federal courts.

Additionally, he devotes a substantial part of his practice to matters in the health care industry. He has represented hospitals and physicians in a diverse array of matters including court proceedings, medical staff proceedings, government investigation and audits, self-disclosure of Medicare and Medicaid billing issues, and before licensure boards. He regularly advises physicians and physician groups regarding a variety of business, ownership, regulatory and employment matters
