Dinsmore is excited to announce that April Besl has been named the President of the Cincinnati Intellectual Property Association, better known as CincyIP. The organization, which has close to 200 members in the Greater Cincinnati Region, serves to educate and promote the innovative IP work being performed in the region.

An associate in Dinsmore’s IP Department, Besl previously served as Vice-President of CincyIP, before also assuming the role of Acting President last year.

“We have a lot of really talented people here doing exciting work in the IP world, and I think it’s important to promote that,” she said. “I’m looking forward to serving as President and keeping the organization moving forward.”

CincyIP typically participates in and organizes a number of events throughout the year, including a premier conference, as well as numerous workshops, seminars and presentations. With the growth of the group in recent years, Besl said they are looking to expand their offerings through more community events.

At Dinsmore, Besl practices with the Licensing & Enforcement and Entertainment Law practice groups. She focuses her practice on non-patent intellectual property issues including trademarks, copyrights, social media, Internet law, advertising and trade secrets. She is also a frequent speaker on IP issues throughout the area.
