Dinsmore & Shohl’s Harvey Cohen will take part in an International Law Seminar Panel for ALFA International in New York City October 20-22, 2013.

Cohen will be one of five panelists in the “International M&A- Getting it Right in Tough Times” seminar that will focus on making the right decisions in the Global M&A market. Given the current financial challenges, it’s more important than ever to make the right strategic decision. Investment Bankers from JP Morgan and Bank of America and attorneys from Australia and San Francisco also will serve on the panel.

“There are opportunities for companies that have the cash or stock currency, and many acquirers seek to expand offerings and sales, but deals now get much more scrutiny from sellers and buyers as well as regulators and many more die pre-close than pre-2008. This panel will share real time, cutting edge insights on the current state of Domestic and Global M&A,” remarked Cohen.

At Dinsmore, Cohen practices corporate law encompassing nearly every facet of domestic and international business. He routinely represents outbound U.S. businesses and inbound non-U.S.-owned entities. He chairs the firm’s International Business Practice Group and is the Co-Chair Emeritus of ALFA® International’s International Law Practice Group which Cohen helped found and has had a hand in leading for 15 years.

Cohen has been selected by regional lawyers as the International Trade and Finance Law "Lawyer of the Year” for The Best Lawyers in America: 2014 edition. These peers also elected him to Best Lawyers for Corporate Law and Information Technology Law. Cohen has received the highest possible peer rating for legal ability and ethics, AV preeminent, in Martindale-Hubbell for the last 16 consecutive years since he has been eligible and is recommended for Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts by The Legal 500 United States.
