John M. Spires Selected as Member of the Fayette County Bar Association Board of Directors

Dinsmore & Shohl’s John M. Spires has been selected to serve as a member of the Fayette County Bar Association (FCBA) Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors oversees the operation of the FCBA. The FCBA’s goal is to provide professional and social networking for attorneys in Lexington and to develop a closer relationship with the Kentucky Bar Association and with the American Bar Association. Spires has been a member of the FCBA since 2007 when he started practicing law and will serve a one-year term on the board.

Spires is a member of Dinsmore’s Corporate Department and Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group. He has experience representing both creditors and debtors in complex bankruptcy cases and workouts outside of the bankruptcy system, and he has litigated a number of contested matters arising in bankruptcy cases.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Spires also has extensive experience in the commercial litigation context. He has practiced before Kentucky's federal and state trial courts, the Kentucky Court of Appeals, the Kentucky Supreme Court, and United States Bankruptcy Courts in multiple states. Spires earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
