State Senator William J. Seitz Joins Dinsmore’s Cincinnati Office

Dinsmore & Shohl welcomes State Senator William J. Seitz to the firm’s Cincinnati office. He will practice out of the Litigation Department.

Seitz joins Dinsmore as a Partner of Counsel from Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where he has spent his entire law career since starting as an associate there in 1978.

Seitz also serves as State Senator, representing the 8th District of Ohio since 2007. Prior to the Senate, he spent seven years as a State Representative and held leadership roles as Majority Whip and Assistant Majority Whip, as well as chairing the Civil and Commercial Law Committee.

In the Senate, Seitz serves as chairman of the Public Utilities Committee and vice-chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee. He has also been named to the Transportation Committee, the State Government Oversight & Reform Committee, the Civil Justice Committee, the Commerce & Labor Committee and the Finance Subcommittee on General Government. The Ohio Chamber of Commerce ranks Seitz with a 100 percent pro-business score for the current session and a 96 percent lifetime score. For the past three years, he has been named to Cincy Magazine’s Power 100 list, which designates the TriState's most influential leaders.

Prior to holding state office, Seitz served as President of the Hamilton County Township Association, a Green Township Trustee and a member of the Cincinnati Board of Education. He earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was Order of the Coif.
