Sarah B. Cameron Appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Women

February 14, 2017News Releases

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has appointed Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Sarah B. Cameron to the Kentucky Commission on Women.

The Kentucky Commission on Women empowers women and girls to overcome the barriers to equality and expand the opportunities available to them, so they can achieve their fullest potential. As a board member, Cameron will advise the governor and departments on issues pertaining to women as well as promote and encourage the community to establish programs with women’s interests.

“I am extremely honored by the appointment and excited to join an amazing team on the Commission for Women” stated Cameron. “As a working mother of a toddler, I am acutely aware of the challenges women face professionally during their ‘child-rearing’ years, and I hope to bring this prospective to the Commission in considering ways to encourage women to stay involved in their careers while embracing their role as mother. It is important for employers to realize that providing mothers with support and flexibility during this short period makes ‘dollars and sense’ in the long term. I am grateful that Dinsmore provides generous maternity leave and flexibility to support my developing career as a litigator and my responsibilities as a mom.”

Cameron is a member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on defending businesses in contract-related and business tort litigation. Cameron’s litigation background includes experience handling fiduciary duty claims, probate disputes, construction defect and delay claims, negligent misrepresentation, commercial real estate disputes, and medical malpractice actions in state and federal courts.
