Clifford H. Ashburner Appointed as Co-Chair of the Louisville Comprehensive Plan Update

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Clifford H. Ashburner has been appointed as co-chair of the Louisville’s Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee by Mayor Greg Fischer.

Known as Cornerstone 2020, the Comprehensive Plan is a document that governs zoning decisions in the city. Ashburner stated, “The Comprehensive Plan update presents an opportunity for Louisvillians to help shape the community's future for the next 20 years. The new Plan will focus on all aspects of development, from economic and infrastructure issues to community needs and livability. The goal is to make Louisville a place that attracts the top businesses and talent now and in the future.”

Throughout the year, the committee will solicit community input and feedback on the plan. Cathe Dykstra, Chief Possibility Officer for Family Scholar House, Inc., is serving as Advisory Committee co-chair with Ashburner.

Ashburner is a member of Dinsmore’s Corporate Department where he focuses his practice on advising and representing developers and others in appearances before planning commissions, boards of zoning adjustment, city councils and courts. He also has successfully handled several development projects from acquisition through the entitlement process and financing to final construction. Ashburner is proficient in sustainable development issues, including US Green Building Council's LEED certification process for sustainable design and construction. He is also the first Kentucky attorney to obtain the LEED Accredited Professional accreditation.
