D. Michael Crites Appointed to Bipartisan Judiciary Advisory Review Commission

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s D. Michael Crites has been appointed by Senator Rob Portman to a bipartisan judiciary advisory review commission to help identify candidates to fill vacancies on the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio.

“I am deeply honored to serve on the judiciary advisory commission at the request of the Senator and I look forward to help build the future of the Ohio District Courts,” stated Crites.

Crites is one of 28 members on the commission. The Southern District has court locations in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton and serves more than five million Ohioans in 48 counties. The Northern District has court locations in Akron, Cleveland, Toledo, and Youngstown and serves approximately 5.9 million citizens of the 40 northernmost counties in Ohio.

Crites’ legal practice focuses exclusively on white collar criminal defense and complex business litigation. As the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, he has years of grand jury and litigation experience in federal court and regularly litigates and negotiates global settlements of criminal, civil and regulatory matters on behalf of corporations and businesses throughout the United States. He also serves as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General.
