Dinsmore & Shohl’s Faith C. Whittaker has been appointed to the Cincinnati Ballet Board of Trustees. Whittaker will serve a three-year term, replacing Dinsmore’s George Wilkinson.

“I am honored and humbled to join the Cincinnati Ballet Board of Trustees. The Ballet is an important part of our community as well as my personal life. It’s a tremendous opportunity to contribute to this art and to the ballet’s success,” said Whittaker.

Starting in kindergarten, Whittaker took up ballet and danced through her college days at the University of Dayton. In high school, she was a member of the Toledo Ballet Company and dedicated much of her time to ballet. Whittaker danced in “The Nutcracker” with the Toledo Ballet each year in various roles from kindergarten through senior year of high school. Whittaker also performed in other Toledo Ballet performances such as “Alice in Wonderland” and “Coppelia.” While in law school, Whittaker attended adult ballet classes at the Cincinnati Ballet.

“The discipline and motivation I learned through ballet carried with me through my career in law,” Whittaker said. “Some of my happiest memories have been dancing in ‘The Nutcracker.’”

Active in the community, Whittaker is also on the Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA) Board of Trustees and serves as the Chair of the CBA Labor and Employment Practice Group. She is a graduate of the WE Lead Cincinnati Chamber Leadership Program, YWCA Rising Star leadership program, and Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers program. Whittaker is also a past recipient of the Outstanding Alumna of the Past Decade Award from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.

Whittaker is a partner in Dinsmore’s labor and employment department, practicing all aspects of employment law litigation, including class action defense. She understands labor and employment law is constantly evolving, and teams with clients to offer proactive counsel, including conducting training programs and drafting employee policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Her experience with companies and organizations enables her to provide counsel that mitigates her clients' risk, while also allowing their business to effectively operate.
