Former Dentons attorney Ivan Bilaniuk joins Dinsmore’s DC office

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has expanded its Washington, D.C. office, welcoming partner Ivan Bilaniuk to the firm. Bilaniuk joins the firm’s litigation department and international business practice group and will focus both on international arbitration and litigation as well as international compliance.

Bilaniuk has extensive experience arbitrating international government contract and commercial disputes under various institutional rules as well as enforcing arbitral awards and foreign court judgments. He also advises clients on a range of issues including international contracting, export controls, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) trade sanctions, and anti-corruption measures. Bilaniuk holds a security clearance from the US Department of Defense.

“Ivan has a sterling reputation in international arbitration and litigation and brings a wealth of experience in compliance matters, including those involving export controls, sanctions, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act,” said William Sherman, Washington, D.C. office managing partner. “His skillset brings immediate benefit to our existing clients and expands our client service offerings as we continue to raise our profile in the D.C. legal community.”

Bilaniuk earned his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. He received a B.A. in biology from Harvard College and a M.A. in regional studies of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia from Harvard University.
