Jacob Dobres

Biography

A skilled litigator, Jacob focuses his practice on workers’ compensation defense. He has experience advising clients at every step of the process, from initial claim review and consideration through administrative hearings and, when necessary, through appeals to Ohio’s trial and appellate courts. In serving as the relationship partner for a Fortune 500 client, he honed his ability to manage a large caseload of administrative and court matters.

Jacob is an effective negotiator and has achieved successful settlements through direct negotiation and mediation. He also brings unique insight to workers’ compensation matters, having represented the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio while serving as an assistant attorney general in the Ohio Attorney General’s office. In addition to defending clients, Jacob utilizes his knowledge to speak at continuing legal education courses, conduct training and offer proactive counseling to clients, addressing matters from early claim handling to case management, with a goal of limiting his clients’ risk and liability before an issue arises. Outside of the office, Jacob is a youth hockey coach.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Jacob practiced at Bricker & Maxfield, LLC and the Philip J. Fulton Law Office.
