Dinsmore Adds Corporate Strength to its Pittsburgh Office

December 8, 2015News Releases
Continuing its strategic growth, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP welcomes three corporate attorneys to its Pittsburgh office, enhancing the services at that location. Partners James R. Carlisle, II and Erin C. Farabaugh along with Associate Brigette R. Koreny will practice in the Corporate Department. 7 attorneys have joined Pittsburgh in 2015, and the new additions bring that office to 32 attorneys.

Carlisle, Farabaugh and Koreny take a practical approach to their corporate transactional practice to provide clients with creative solutions based upon the client’s unique goals and objectives. They have experience acting as general corporate counsel to closely held businesses in a variety of industries in the manufacturing, distribution, professional services, and technology sectors, and in engineering and executing successful acquisition strategies, as well as ultimate exit transactions for their clients. They believe that a multidisciplinary collaborative approach is essential to a successful engagement, and have made this a core part of their growth and exit planning process.

Jim Carlisle is an experienced veteran corporate and M&A attorney. He has been entrenched with growth and exit planning and mergers and acquisitions in the Western Pennsylvania market since 1991. Carlisle serves as general counsel to a significant list of privately held organizations and often serves in an advisory capacity to the board of directors of the firm's entrepreneurial clients. Jim is a frequent speaker at events throughout the United States with respect to growth and exit planning, mergers and acquisitions and family business. As a Certified Exit Planner (CExP), Jim provides an evolved level of services by planning for clients to optimize their outcomes rather than only drafting transaction documents in a reactive manner when business owners elect to sell their business.

"After intensive analysis, we are very pleased to join Dinsmore. Dinsmore will permit the expansion of our growth & exit planning practice and M&A practice throughout a national platform,” said Carlisle. “The outstanding lawyers at Dinsmore will provide our clients with world class service in all practice areas. Our passion and energy to practice law and to help our clients achieve their objectives will be well served as a part of Dinsmore."

Erin Farabaugh is a corporate transactional and securities attorney, with extensive experience providing legal counsel related to corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and private securities offerings, and in strategizing and preparing material business and commercial agreements. Farabaugh represents both established and emerging companies, and is committed to taking an active role in growing the region. She is fully integrated into the Pittsburgh emerging technology, venture capital and private equity communities, and serves as an active board member of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and the Association for Corporate Growth.
“I believe in taking an innovative approach to bring practical business solutions which will increase our clients’ efficiencies and bottom line, protect their growth, and create an engineered future for the company that fits the business owner’s objectives,” said Farabaugh.

Brigette Koreny’s MBA education complements her legal experience to enable her to develop creative and comprehensive recommendations to help business owners achieve their objectives. She provides external general counsel services to companies at each stage of the business life cycle and advises business owners on all aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and mergers processes.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jim, Erin and Brigette. They are exceptional attorneys with extensive corporate and M&A experience. Additionally, their unique expertise in advising business owners in planning for and creating their legacy when it comes time to move on from the company recognized as being among the best in the Region. They will be a great fit and complement our group here in Pittsburgh,” said Anthony A. Ditka, Pittsburgh Office Managing Partner.
