John represents domestic and international companies and individuals in areas including mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, debt and equity financing, franchising, securities, and venture capital. He has experience with public company securities compliance, including SEC periodic reporting, proxy materials, registration issues, public disclosure issues, and corporate governance.
He is also experienced in the legal, regulatory, operational, and financial aspects of the cannabis and hemp industries. John guides businesses and investors through the evolving complexities within the cannabis space to ensure compliance across all legal aspects of their businesses. Since 2012, John has drafted and obtained cultivation, processing, and dispensary licenses for marijuana operators throughout the United States. He has overseen the multi-state expansion of licensed marijuana operators and handles regulatory compliance. He has experience drafting marijuana and hemp supply and distribution agreements as well as ongoing packaging and labeling reviews for the national distribution of hemp and CBD products. In addition, John is a regular speaker on the changing legal and business issues facing the marijuana and industrial hemp industries throughout the United States.
He also provides oversight and advice on international business operations and transactions for American companies, as well as foreign companies entering the United States.
