Jonathan (Jon) Wood

Jon focuses his practice on intellectual property law and business, with a specific interest in intellectual property strategy and management. He draws from his IP-related experiences working as the chief IP counsel for Bridgestone Americas, Inc. and senior counsel with Eastman Chemical Company, solving problems and advocating for his clients. As the former executive director of innovation and collaboration for Bridgestone, he understands the business needs of his clients and works closely with C-level executives.

In addition to developing and implementing processes, decision guidelines, and other parameters for the IP department and the innovation function, he has worked closely with universities and the startup community, including venture capital and accelerators, to grow and diversify businesses. This work included negotiating and leading joint ventures, licensing, strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions. As chief intellectual property counsel, he was responsible for all aspects of intellectual property law, including overseeing the prosecution, licensing, and enforcement of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, and other intellectual property-related issues.
