Dinsmore & Shohl LLP partner Robert “Bobby” A. Lucas has been selected to chair the firm’s Business, Acquisitions and Securities practice group.

A well-respected leader throughout the firm, Lucas is the Office Managing Partner for Dinsmore’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors who serves on the finance committee. The Business, Acquisitions and Securities practice group routinely handles mergers and acquisitions, securities law matters and general corporate issues for a diverse client base, from small family owned businesses to large multi-national corporations.

“Businesses across the country are living in a time of uncertainty, and our group will work hard to stay at the forefront of these changes to best serve our clients,” said Lucas. “Changing federal policies will require sound legal counsel, and regardless of size, industry or geography, we have a group of talented attorneys throughout the country who are extremely knowledgeable and committed to success.”

In his practice, Lucas leverages a thorough understanding of corporate and finance law to serve as a valuable ally to his clients. He has counseled a wide variety of clients, ranging from start-ups and family-owned businesses to publicly traded companies and large privately-held entities, on all aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Lucas’ experience also extends into the world of finance, where he has represented both borrowers and lenders in secured lending and finance transactions, including mezzanine credit facilities, as well as advising on securities law matters, including compliance issues. He also practices within the sports realm, where he has advised a variety of entities and individuals in corporate and contract matters. Lucas earned his J.D. from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law.

Lucas assumes the role from Susan B. Zaunbrecher, who will continue to serve on Dinsmore’s Board of Directors and as chair of the firm’s Corporate Department.
