Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has added 23 new associates to the firm across 10 offices.


Charleston, WV

Kelsey L. Haught joined the Charleston office and will practice out of the Labor and Employment Department. Haught studied sports law by exploring how labor, criminal, torts and intellectual property law relate to sports. She earned her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law.

Chicago, IL

Marisa K. Fenn joined the Chicago office and will practice out of the Corporate Department. Fenn previously served as a summer associate for Dinsmore in 2016. She earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she was the symposium editor for the Journal of Law and Social Policy as well as a mentor for the Women’s Leadership Coalition.

Cincinnati, OH

Quashondra L. Battle joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Prior to joining Dinsmore, Battle was a legal intern for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Enforcement Division, where she researched case law relevant to enforcement of consumer protection laws. Battle earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.

David Castillo Gocher joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Corporate Department. Gocher served an extern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he conducted legal research and drafted judicial opinions. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.

Matthew A. Emch joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Intellectual Property Department. Before Dinsmore, Emch drafted patent and trademark applications as a legal assistant at McMillan, Sobanski & Todd LLC. He earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Hayley L. Geiler joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Labor & Employment Department. Geiler interned for the Honorable Roderick C. Young, U.S. Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for Eastern District of Virginia, researching and writing about legal issues on civil rights violations and constitutional claims. Geiler earned her J.D. from William & Mary Law School.

Benjamin M. Greiner joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Greiner was a summer associate at Graydon Head & Richey LLP and also interned with Federal Judge Susan J. Dlott. Greiner earned his J.D. from University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Alexandra S. Horwitz joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Corporate Department focusing on commercial finance. Horwitz came to Dinsmore after serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Beth A. Myers, Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. She spent her years there observing and assisting Judge Myers in courtroom proceedings and pretrial conferences. Horwitz earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Rebecca N. Knight joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Prior to joining Dinsmore, Knight was a legal intern at Procter & Gamble, assisting in developing trademarks and labor and employment toolkits. Knight was also a summer associate for Dinsmore and conducted extensive research on patent infringement cases and use of expert testimony to establish causation. She earned her J.D. from University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Stephanie S. Weems joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Finance Department, focusing on public finance. Weems previously served as a development consultant at Shasta Family YMCA, managing the annual giving program and providing oversight and management of major gifts and sponsorships. Weems earned her J.D. from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.

Michael A. Xavier joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the Intellectual Property Department. Xavier composed client letters advising of legal rights and options within bankruptcy and created recommendations for action to supervising staff while interning at Colorado Legal Services. He earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Columbus, OH

Mathew G. Drocton joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Drocton previously clerked for the Honorable John J. McConnell of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a foreign exchange student mentor and contributing editor for the Case Western Reserve Law Review.

Curt M. Masker joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the Corporate Department, focusing his practice on commercial finance. Masker previously served as a law clerk at the International Union, UAW in Detroit. He researched and wrote legal memoranda on campaign finance reporting requirements, complaints about state-run OSHA plans and strikers’ reinstatement rights. Masker earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.

Sydney N. Pahren joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the Corporate Department. Pahren previously served as a summer associate for Dinsmore in 2015. She earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she was staff editor for the Ohio State Law Journal as well as an executive board member for the Black Law Students Association.

Dayton, OH

Carolyn S. Alford joined the Dayton office and will practice out of the Intellectual Property Department. Before Dinsmore, she wrote blogs for the Oil and Gas Law Report and the Employer Law Report as a clerk at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP. She earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Allisyn E. Monteleone joined the Dayton office and will practice out of the Intellectual Property Department. Monteleone served a summer law clerk at Bowles Rice LLP, where she conducted legal research and drafted legal memoranda, gaining both transactional law and litigation experience. She earned her J.D. from West Virginia University.

Detroit, MI

Nicholas R. McHardy joined the Detroit office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. McHardy earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he was part of the Intellectual Property Law Society as well as chair for the Midwest LGBTQ Law Conference. He previously served as a student attorney for the school’s Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic.

Lexington, KY

Megan E. Niespodziany joined the Lexington office and will practice out of the Litigation Department, focusing her practice on commercial litigation. Niespodziany previously served as a summer associate at Reinhardt & Associates, PLC, drafting motions for summary judgment and conducting research regarding insurance defense and criminal law. Niespodziany earned her J.D. from University of Kentucky College of Law.

Louisville, KY

James L. Bobbitt joined the Louisville office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Bobbitt earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he was the staff editor for the Washington University Law Review and a pro bono committee member on the Public Service Advisory Board. Bobbitt joined Dinsmore from Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, where he served as a summer associate, drafting documents for Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings.

G. Luke Burton joined the Louisville office and will practice out of the Litigation Department. Burton previously served as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable Julia Gibbons in Memphis, Tennessee and Honorable David L. Bunning in Covington, Kentucky. Burton earned his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

Paige N. Johnson joined the Louisville office and will practice out of the Litigation Department, focusing her practice on tort litigation. Previously, Johnson was with The Poppe Law Firm as a law clerk, where she assisted in trial preparation and research. Johnson earned her J.D. from University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

Morgantown, WV

Margaret L. Power joined the Morgantown office and will practice out of the Corporate Department. Power earned her J.D./Master of Public Administration dual degree from West Virginia University, where she was on the Women’s Leadership Council and was a public interest advocate. She is a certified health education specialist. During her tenure at WVU, she helped develop campus safety strategies and policies through a program funded by the Department of Justice.

Pittsburgh, PA

Marcie J. Solomon joined the Pittsburgh office and will practice out of the Corporate Department. Solomon previously clerked for Campbell, Durrant, Beatty, Palombo & Miller P.C. and focused on public sector labor and employment work. Solomon earned her J.D. from University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was honored with CALI Excellence for the Future awards for highest grades in contracts and civil procedure.
