Nelson works with a variety of clients and focuses his practice on labor- and employment-related litigation matters and government relations. Specifically, he focuses on defending companies and supervisors in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, tort, and contract cases. He has experience in matters involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the West Virginia Human Rights Act, and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. Nelson is also a registered lobbyist in West Virginia and advocates on behalf of the firm’s clients before the West Virginia Legislature and state agencies.
He received his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he was a member of the United States Supreme Court Clinic.
