Dinsmore & Shohl welcomes Clifford A. Pastel to the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Pastel will practice out of the Finance Department and the Public Finance Group.

Pastel comes to Dinsmore from Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, where his practice focused on tax-exempt financing, including arbitrage rebate calculation and compliance as well as low-income housing tax credit transactions. He has handled tax-exempt bond transactions for schools, hospitals, sewer and water agencies and other state and local governmental entities. Pastel’s expertise in tax matters extends beyond the area of tax-exempt financing. His experience includes handling tax litigation in the Tax Court and in Pennsylvania tribunals, and other financial transactions, including mortgage-backed securities and limited partnership syndications.

“Clif is a 35 year public finance veteran with strong Section 103 experience that will both complement the public finance tax department and expand our transactional market presence in Pittsburgh. I’m very pleased that he has joined our group and this office,” said Christopher Brewer, Public Finance Group Co-Chair.

Pastel earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and received his A.B. from Harvard College.
