Daniel Zinsmaster to Join Dinsmore & Shohl’s Columbus Office

Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce that Daniel Zinsmaster has joined the firm’s Columbus office as an associate in the Corporate Department and Health Care Practice Group.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Daniel worked as an Enforcement Attorney for the State Medical Board of Ohio providing counsel to Board members and agency personnel regarding the Medical Practices Act of Ohio, Chapter 119 Administrative Procedures, and pertinent federal health care rules and regulations. During his 6 years at the State Medical Board, he focused on high priority cases concerning improper prescribing and deviations from appropriate standards of care, as well as matters of substance impairment, mental illness and physical ailments. While coordinating with appropriate federal, state and local agencies, he investigated and resolved numerous complex cases involving the unlawful activities of health care practitioners, and developed novel approaches to deal with non-cooperation with contemporaneous administrative investigations.

Daniel also served as a Staff Attorney at Barkan & Barken Co., LPA in Columbus, where, among other duties, he researched and drafted an appellate brief concerning the applicability of Ohio's Savings Statute to appeals from decisions issued by the Ohio Worker's Compensation Review Commission. Earlier in his career, he was an extern for the Ohio Governor’s Legal Office and Columbus City Attorney’s Office, and was a Research Assistant for Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP in Columbus. Daniel earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his B.A. from Ohio University.
