Dinsmore & Shohl’s Anjali Chavan Accepted to YWCA Leadership Program
Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce that Anjali Chavan has been accepted to the Columbus YWCA’s Chase Gen Y Leadership Project. Chavan is one of 29 members of Class V.
The Gen Y Leadership Project’s focus is to train and empower women who are beginning their career to be the next generation of female leaders and to link them with community’s needs. The program spans 12 months and will provide formal and informal learning opportunities.
“The Gen Y Leadership Project presents an opportunity to engage in social and professional growth, leadership development, and community activism. The next twelve months are a pivotal time for developing my leadership style, engaging female-leaders representing a variety of cultural, social, and professional backgrounds, and re-dedicating myself to community awareness and activism. I am excited to be part of a wonderful organization that promotes social justice, female empowerment, and eradication of inequities,” said Chavan.
The Chase Gen Y Leadership Project is a one-of-a-kind program that was developed with a foundation in the YWCA’s mission. It provides emerging leaders with the opportunity to be mentored by Columbus’ established community leaders.
Chavan is a member of the Labor & Employment Department. She has experience in advising and representing private and public employers in all aspects of employment law and traditional labor law. Chavan assists employers to comply with the National Labor Relations Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and its Amendments, the Age Discrimination Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as well as the Ohio Civil Rights Act.
