Dinsmore & Shohl’s Harvey Cohen to Address Compliance Issues at IBA Conference

Harvey Cohen, a partner in Dinsmore & Shohl’s Cincinnati office, will be serving as Co-Chair of a session at the upcoming International Bar Association (IBA) Closely Held and Growing Business Enterprises Committee Conference. The conference, which is supported by the IBA Latin American Regional Forum, will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 5-7.

At the conference, Cohen and James M. Klotz of Miller Thomson in Toronto, chair a session that addresses key compliance issues that can create frustration during M&A and other transactions. The panel will include speakers from across South and Latin America. The panel will address compliance issues and the role of counsel in managing them, as well as international trends emerging from buyers.

Cohen was recently appointed to serve as Membership Officer of the IBA’s Closely Held and Growing Business Enterprises Committee. He is also a member of the IBA’s Bar Issues Commission and the IBA Council, which serves as the member governing body of the IBA. The IBA is the world’s leading organization of international legal practitioners, counting more than 50,000 attorneys and 200 bar associations among its members.

At Dinsmore, Cohen practices corporate law encompassing nearly every facet of domestic and international business. He routinely represents outbound U.S. businesses and inbound non-U.S.-owned entities. He chairs the firm’s International Business Practice Group and is the Co-Chair Emeritus of ALFA® International’s International Law Practice Group.
