Dinsmore & Shohl Partner Colin H. Lindsay received an award for his work to fight human trafficking. The Kentucky Rescue and Restore Coalition presented Lindsay with the “Liberation Award” at a ceremony on December 13 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington.

The Coalition honors individuals and agencies that have made a significant impact in the effort against human trafficking in Kentucky. Lindsay was selected for his work to provide legal representation to trafficking victims as well as helping to raise awareness about the problem of human trafficking.

“It’s such an honor to receive this award. I hope events like this continue to bring the issue to light. Human trafficking is modern-day slavery. People do not want to believe that it is happening in their area. We all need to help in fighting this epidemic,” said Lindsay.

The Kentucky Rescue and Restore Coalition selects honorees based on the impact they have to combat human trafficking and to effect positive change. At Dinsmore, Lindsay is a Partner in the Litigation Department, primarily focusing on commercial and intellectual property litigation. He is a Past President of the Louisville Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates. Lindsay spoke in support of several human trafficking resolutions at the 2013 ABA Midyear Meeting.
