Dinsmore’s Karen S. Hockstad named Vice President/ President Elect for Mid-Ohio JDRF

Dinsmore & Shohl’s Karen S. Hockstad, a Partner in the Columbus office, has been named Vice-President/ President Elect for the Mid-Ohio Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF).

Hockstad will serve a one year term as Vice President and then will follow with two years as President. Her position follows years of involvement with the JDRF, most recently serving as the Chair of the 2014 Promise Ball.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to support JDRF from a leadership position,” said Hockstad. “Their commitment to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes is inspiring. They also work to create new tools to help manage the day-to-day challenges of this disease.”

Hockstad is a Partner in the firm’s Columbus office practicing out of the Corporate and Litigation departments. She advises clients through a variety of transactional and tax matters. Hockstad has handled tax controversies with the IRS and litigated matters in the U.S. Tax Court. She is also a seasoned litigator, representing clients in matters ranging from commercial litigation to non-compete cases to intellectual property to unfair trade laws.
