Faith C. Whittaker Honored as Outstanding Alumna of Chase College of Law

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Faith C. Whittaker received the “Outstanding Alumna of the Past Decade Award” from Northern Kentucky University’s (NKU) Chase College of Law.
She was honored at the Alumni Luncheon on October 14th.

Faith graduated cum laude from the University of Dayton with a B.A. in History. Following undergraduate, Faith attended Chase College of Law, earning her J.D. in May 2007. While attending Chase, Faith served as the Symposium Editor for the Northern Kentucky Law Review and co-authored "Survey: How Recent Kentucky Courts are Applying the Retaliation Claim in Employment Cases,” Northern Kentucky Law Review. Faith also served as Secretary for the Student Bar Association.

Faith began working for Dinsmore & Shohl in its labor and employment law department in September 2007, making partner effective January 2016. Faith has significant experience guiding clients through issues that arise in the workplace. She has handled a multitude of employment-related litigation for her clients, who range from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Faith also teams with clients to offer proactive counsel, including conducting training programs and drafting employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Faith has handled litigation relating to all facets of employment law, including but not limited to discrimination claims, retaliation claims, wrongful discharge claims, class and collective actions, claims relating to background checks, wage and hour claims, and noncompetition issues.

Faith serves as a Trustee for the Cincinnati Bar Association (“CBA”), chairs the CBA Labor & Employment Law Committee, and serves as the Chair-Elect for the Executive Board of the Young Lawyers Section of the CBA. Faith previously served as Trustee for the Cincinnati Bar Foundation and as a board member for arts innovation movement fka ballet tech. Faith previously co-authored the monthly Labor and Employment Law column in The Federal Lawyer. Faith has also volunteered her time to Marjorie P Lee assisted living, Destiny Hospice, Volunteer Lawyers Project, and Dress for Success. She is a recent 2016 Graduate of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers Program and was selected as a 2014 YWCA Rising Star.
