Joanne M. Schreiner Named Ohio State Chair for the American College of Mortgage Attorneys

Dinsmore & Shohl’s Joanne M. Schreiner has been named the Ohio State Chair for the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA).

ACMA is a highly selective group, and attorney must distinguished themselves as one of the best in the mortgage law industry and meet rigorous criteria to receive an invitation for membership. Schreiner has been an ACMA Fellow for eight years and assumed the new position in January of this year. As a State Chair, Schreiner will be the go-to source for any Fellow who has questions about Ohio mortgage laws.

“I am proud to serve in a larger role with ACMA and look forward to sharing my insights with other Fellows,” said Schreiner. “I have found ACMA to be a great resource in my practice. Their publications and conferences update and inform members on the latest developments and trends in the industry. It’s an honor to play a role in further educating my peers on Ohio mortgage law.”

As Dinsmore’s Commercial Finance Group Chair, Schreiner’s practice involves a full range of commercial and business transactions, including acquisitions and mergers, contract negotiation, financing, leasing and sales. She has extensive, national experience in handling complex, multi-state secured lending transactions on behalf of national lending institutions, including in the origination, documentation, purchase and enforcement of commercial loans, subordinate notes, syndications and participations, and in structuring intercreditor and servicing agreements.

Schreiner’s corporate practice includes stock/asset purchases of diverse operating entities, including all related due diligence and negotiation of acquisition and operational agreements. Her global practice includes transactional matters in Europe, Asia and South America. Schreiner provides legal guidance to operating companies in all corporate areas, including formation, governance, sales/distribution, and regulatory compliance. She also serves on the firm’s Finance and Associate Evaluation Committees.

Schreiner earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and received her B.A. from the University of Akron.
