Jon Wood Joins Dinsmore’s Cleveland Office
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has welcomed Jon Wood as its newest of counsel hire in Cleveland.
Wood comes with extensive experience in innovation, technology and intellectual property, both domestically and abroad, and he was honored as such when he was named to the IAM 300, which recognizes the world’s top 300 IP strategists.
“As we continue to grow the firm’s Cleveland office and expand our reach and capabilities, we’re thrilled to bring on an attorney with Jon’s depth of IP experience,” said Jim Dimitrijevs, Cleveland office managing partner. “His diverse and global experience in innovation and intellectual property will be a valuable resource for our clients.”
Wood’s arrival to Dinsmore was preceded by nearly 14 years with Akron’s Bridgestone America’s, where he was the executive director of innovation and collaboration for three-plus years after a decade managing the Bridgestone and Firestone family of brands and a portfolio of over 3,000 patents across the globe as chief intellectual property counsel.
Away from the office, Wood is also an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, and he serves as the co-chairman of the board for the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Wood earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas, his M.S. in organic chemistry from the University of Alabama and his B.S. in chemistry from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
