Lira Johnson Featured in Business First’s BizWomen Mentoring Event

Dinsmore & Shohl’s Lira Johnson is a featured Mentor at Louisville Business First’s BizWomen Mentoring Monday event on March 30, 2015. Johnson is one of 40 mentors selected by Business First as the “most influential women in the business community” to take part in the event.

The BizWomen Mentoring Monday event will offer one-on-one coaching sessions for seven minute conversations. Women attending the event are encouraged to network with each other while waiting for one-on-one sessions with a particular mentor. The BizWomen Mentoring Monday event is taking place in 43 Business Journal markets on the same day.

“I am honored to be selected by Business First to serve as a mentor and know the importance of finding someone to serve as a sounding board and resource,” said Johnson. “I’m looking forward to making new connections and helping achieve the goal of coaching 10,000 women across America taking part in this event.”

Johnson is a Partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Department. Lira advises employers on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing employees. She represents employee benefit plans and fiduciaries in litigation concerning employer-sponsored health plans and governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 as amended (ERISA). She also defends employers in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, MI-OSHA and KY-OSHA, the Department of Labor, and in state and federal litigation.

Johnson earned her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University.
