Michael W. Hawkins Appointed to the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission

Dinsmore & Shohl’s Michael W. Hawkins has been appointed to the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission (CHRC) by Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and City Council.

Hawkins was elected as Vice Chair of the Board and will serve a three-year term. The CHRC’s mission is to create a Greater Cincinnati that is a safe, energetic, livable community of citizens who work together to overcome prejudice and build mutual respect.

CHRC works to build relationships between the different groups and cultures in Cincinnati and to promote a shared understanding to resolve diversity issues. Hawkins has previously served on the CHRC and is a past Board Chair.

Hawkins is a partner in Dinsmore’s Labor & Employment and Appellate Practice Groups. He has extensive experience in all aspects of labor, employment law and ERISA litigation and appellate practice. Hawkins has argued two cases in the U.S. Supreme Court and many in-state and Federal Courts of Appeals. He has been selected by Best Lawyers as a top Labor & Employment lawyer every year since 1989. Hawkins is an arbitrator and mediator on the AAA panel.
