Nancy Lawson Named State Coordinator for iCivics
Nancy Lawson, a partner in Dinsmore & Shohl's Cincinnati office, was recently named Coordinator for the State of Ohio for iCivics. As State Coordinator, Lawson will help promote and coordinate iCivics' initiatives into the Ohio school systems curriculum. iCivics is a web-based education project designed to reinvigorate civics and law-related education initiatives throughout America. ICivics teaches civics by offering students engaging multimedia features, including electronic games.
Lawson is a member of the firm's Litigation Department and represents clients in a variety of business litigation matters. She also has extensive experience serving as local, regional, and national counsel. Lawson earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, her M.Ed. from Boston University, and her B.A. from Skidmore College.
iCivics is a web-based education project designed to teach students civics and inspire them to be active participants in our democracy. iCivics is the vision of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who is concerned that students are not getting the information and tools they need for civic participation, and that civics teachers need better materials and support.
