Roger Craig, former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc., has joined Dinsmore’s Columbus office. He will practice as a partner in the Corporate Department and member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Practice Groups.

"We are very excited to have an attorney of Roger's caliber join the firm," said Susan Zaunbrecher, Chair of the firm's Corporate Department. "Roger brings a depth of knowledge in corporate transactions and private equity that will enhance and expand our current capabilities across all of our markets."

At Nationwide, Craig was responsible for managing legal matters, including the 1933-1934 Act public company work, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. He also oversaw the legal functions for Nationwide Financial Services.

“Roger’s experience at Nationwide, one of the largest insurance and financial services companies, will not only provide added support to our attorneys, but more importantly will enhance the service we offer to clients. Like Nationwide, Dinsmore understands the importance of employees with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives coming together to serve our customers,” said Thomas Bonasera, a partner in the Columbus office and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Management Committee.

Craig will focus his practice primarily on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and investigations by the SEC and FINRA. He has advised clients concerning corporate governance and general corporate counseling. Corporate governance assignments have included advising a public company board, standing committees and special committees on interested transactions. Craig also possesses experience managing a number of complex internal investigations and assessing risk management for several key businesses.

"I am excited about joining one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Columbus and the entire Midwest," said Craig. "Dinsmore's agile pursuit of growth and expansion, vast resources and - like Nationwide - excellent reputation for customer service are what attracted me to the firm."

Prior to joining Nationwide, Craig served as counsel for Huffy Corporation. He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and his A.B. from Wilmington College.
