Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is a national and regional multi-service law firm with offices in 29 cities, stretching from Boston to San Diego. In Kentucky, Dinsmore has four (4) offices: in Lexington, Louisville, Frankfort and Covington.
Dinsmore’s Lexington, Kentucky office is sponsoring a program for eligible students from the University of Kentucky as well as Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky State University, and Transylvania University about the law school experience and potential legal careers. Between September 2022-April 2023, the selected applicants from each of these four Universities will participate in monthly interactive programming hosted by Dinsmore either virtually or in-person at its Lexington office. Those 60-90 minute sessions will provide the program participants tips for taking of the LSAT and applying to law school. Other sessions will focus on the possible legal careers available, and provide applicants an opportunity to hear from and meet diverse attorneys who practice in a variety of areas as well as local judges. Attendees may be eligible for academic credit for participation in the program.
The students eligible to apply for and be selected to the Dinsmore Pre-Law Minority Program are those undergraduate students of color who are in their sophomore, junior or senior years and have an interest in attending law school in the future and/or in a future legal career.
Students who attend the sessions and graduate from Dinsmore’s program, and who intend to apply to law school, will be eligible to apply for a $1,500 stipend/scholarship for use in defraying the costs involved in taking the LSAT or the law school admission process, or to apply to law school tuition.
