For the second year in a row, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has earned a Band 1 ranking in Ohio in the 2021 edition of Chambers and Partners High Net Worth (HNW) Guide, while six attorneys earned rankings ranging from Senior Statesperson to Band 3. Chambers and Partners releases the HNW Guide each year focusing specifically on the international private wealth market. The HNW Guide provides access to notable firms and attorneys around the globe.

Chambers’ attorney rankings are calculated through interviews with anonymous outside parties throughout the United States. Law firms and individual attorneys are ranked in bands from one to six, with one being the best.

Dinsmore’s private wealth planning group prepares efficient solutions in the areas of tax, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and business succession planning. Attorneys in the group provide clients with practical approaches that are individually tailored to each situation.

"I am very comfortable sending them clients," one market insider said of Dinsmore, while another observed the firm’s Private Client & Family Wealth Planning team is “a very good group [with] several ACTEC Fellows. It is a very good firm and is long-established."

Dinsmore partners ranked include:

  • J. Michael Cooney, Cincinnati – Senior Statesperson
  • Lee Stautberg, Cincinnati – Band 1
  • Mary Healy, Cincinnati – Band 1
  • Joshua Rogers, Morgantown – Band 1
  • Glen Bagby, Lexington – Band 3
  • Wade Lawson, Lexington – Band 3

When asked to describe Dinsmore attorneys for this ranking, one interviewee said “[Mike Cooney] is a terrific lawyer who is first-class. He is bright, articulate, and collegial," Another said Lee Stautberg “is an outstanding lawyer who is very smart,” and yet another said Mary Healy “is excellent to work with and is really knowledgeable." Referrers also lauded Glen Bagby’s multifaceted divorce/trust practice, Wade Lawson’s professionalism and versatility, and Josh Rogers’ excellent knowledge of tax structures.

Dinsmore’s well-documented national growth has been reflected in the firm’s Private Client & Family Wealth Planning group in recent months. In April of this year, Dinsmore added partners Chuck Meyer and Katrina Farley to its Cincinnati office. Both have extensive estate planning backgrounds, and Farley is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law.
