August 31, 2015News Releases
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP earned a first-place ranking in Kentucky by The Bond Buyer for serving as bond counsel for the highest dollar volume of municipal bond transactions for the first half of 2015. Dinsmore’s transactions as bond counsel totaled more than $1.193 billion in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, which is more than the other four ranked bond counsel firms combined. Additionally, in Ohio, the firm claimed second place with bond transactions totaling $1.183 billion.

“We have an experienced team and will continue to build on these results.” said Tom Wilson, the firm’s Public Finance Department Chair.

“The ranking came as no surprise to me,” said John Merchant, the firm’s Public Finance Practice Group Co-Chair. ”We have a solid team and strong reputation in Public Finance. We fully expect to end the year just as strongly.”

Roger Peterman the Covington Office Managing Partner added, “We have a strong reputation in the public finance arena. It is very satisfying to know that market participants have a high degree of confidence in what we can help them accomplish.”

Already this year, Kentucky’s total volume of municipal bond transactions increased by 45.3 percent, buoyed by two large Dinsmore transactions — a $384 million issue by the State Property and Buildings Commission, and a $259 million issue by the University of Kentucky.
