Dinsmore & Shohl LLP welcomes Qiong “Joan” Zhao to the firm’s Ann Arbor office. Zhao will practice as an Associate with the Intellectual Property Department.

Zhao joined Dinsmore as part of the Gifford Krass Sprinkle Anderson & Citkowski merger in 2015. She was a Patent Law Clerk preparing provisional and formal patent applications, including U.S. national phase of foreign patent applications, and conducted interviews with inventors.

Zhao’s patent prosecution practice encompasses mechanical, electrical, materials, optics and information technology arts. Zhao earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and two Master degrees, one in Space Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and one in Material Sciences & Engineering from the University of Michigan”
