Dinsmore Named a Top Firm for Female Attorneys

May 29, 2018News Releases

As the broader legal industry makes only marginal gains in female attorney representation, Dinsmore has ranked among the best firms in the nation for women.

In Law360’s 2018 Glass Ceiling Report, which surveyed more than 300 firms, Dinsmore places sixth among similarly sized firms for its percentage of female associates and partners. Law360 reports the 62 firms recognized “are outpacing their peers – breaking down barriers and forging a path to a more diverse working environment.”

Additionally, the firm ranks ninth in its category for its percentage of female equity partners, earning the Law360 designation of Ceiling Smasher.

“At Dinsmore, we strive for multiple perspectives and voices – it’s part of what ensures we provide our clients with comprehensive counsel,” said George H. Vincent, chairman and managing partner. “Diversity is fundamental to our mission as a firm, and to our culture.”

Part of that culture is Dinsmore's Women's Initiative, a branch of the firm's professional development committee that gives female attorneys opportunities to collaborate with their colleagues through networking events and substantive seminars.

“Dinsmore places a great deal of emphasis on the retention and promotion of female attorneys in the firm," said partner and Women's Initiative chair Stacey Borowicz. "We’ve created programs that encourage leadership development as well as mentoring, and I’m glad to see those efforts contribute to this recognition.”

“We continually work to improve and expand diversity in the legal profession, whether through internal initiatives or external involvement and partnerships,” said Marty Dunn, partner and Diversity Committee chair. “We're proud to be recognized as an organization where women thrive and lead.”
