During law school, Susan clerked for Judge David G. Sunderland in the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, researching and drafting over 100 decisions on various civil and criminal motions. She served as an acting judge in Montgomery County Municipal Court, where she presided over misdemeanor and traffic violations, felony arraignments, civil trials and weddings.

Prior to law school, Susan spent nine years working as an insurance adjuster for a property and casualty company in Atlanta, assisting victims of natural disasters, fires and other catastrophes.

In addition to her practice, she is actively involved in her community. Susan has been an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law teaching Appellate Advocacy for 13 years, as well as occasionally teaching Road to Bar Passage.
