Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to welcome Michael J. Ferrara to its Columbus office as a litigation partner. Ferrara joins the firm from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, where he served as a deputy chief.

During his time in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ferrara managed a team of Assistant U.S. Attorneys who handled cases involving money laundering, complex international narcotics, fraud, violent crime, organized crime, and public corruption. He was lead attorney of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force strike force, responsible for overseeing investigations and prosecutions of large-scale criminal enterprises.

“The Department of Justice is a very team-oriented place, which is hard to replicate in the private sector, but I’m very impressed with Dinsmore’s success in promoting a collaborative environment where challenges are met with teamwork,” said Ferrara. “The collegial atmosphere and culture combined with the firm’s opportunities and continued growth make it a great fit for me.”

At Dinsmore, Ferrara will concentrate his practice on False Claims Act, white collar and internal investigations litigation matters.

Ferrara received his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy since 2007. He received a B.S. in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati.
