Biography
Alan is a General Civil attorney with more than 40 years of experience. His practice history includes transactional and litigation matters. Transactional (non-litigation) representation covers a wide scope of representation, including real estate, general business, financial institutions, probate and estate planning, and outside general counsel services to local governmental entities. He has handled a variety of litigation disputes, such as real estate, business ownership contests, contested probate cases, construction claims, and appeals. By experiencing legal representation of clients from both a litigation and a non-litigation perspective, Alan provides his clients with an expansive, strategic viewpoint that can both help to avoid problems up front and help to resolve them appropriately if a dispute arises.
In a corresponding way, Alan’s client background also is very broad, and includes individuals, local and regional businesses, local governmental entities, banks and credit unions, real estate developers, and parties involved in the sale or purchase of a business or facility.
As a way of advancing the development of future lawyers, Alan has served as an Adjunct Law Professor at the University of Houston Law Center since 2019, teaching a course to second and third year law students regarding Wills, Trusts, Estates, Probate and related topics.
