George A. Rios III

Biography

George handles civil litigation matters and has represented individuals and businesses in a wide variety of legal disputes, including business transactions, employment relationships, real estate matters, construction defects, and personal injuries. His experience includes prosecuting and defending matters from case intake through trial, as well as enforcement of judgment.

George is also active in the legal community and community at-large. He served as the 2020-2021 President of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association ("SDLRLA"). SDLRLA is a community of Latino/a/x attorneys and their partners who are dedicated to justice, equality, and the empowerment of diverse communities through education, advocacy, and service. They are committed to promoting diversity in both the bench and the bar. During George’s term as President, SDLRLA created a new 501(c)(3) non-profit arm, the SDLRLA Public Benefit Fund, to better serve San Diego’s diverse community. George served as the first President of the Public Benefit Fund in 2022.

Outside of SDLRLA, George is a board member of the St. Augustine Alumni Association and San Diego Law Library Foundation. He also sits on the San Diego County Bar Association’s (“SDCBA”) Leadership Speaker Series Subcommittee. In May 2021, he was also appointed to San Diego City Mayor Todd Gloria’s Latinx Advisory Group -  a group of 11 San Diegans who will guide Mayor Gloria’s administration in tackling the unique challenges facing Latinx communities.

While in law school, George played an active role in Loyola's Juvenile Rights Project ("JRP"), where he spoke to high school students in some of Los Angeles' high-crime neighborhoods about Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment Rights, encouraging them to stay in school.
