Jason L. Holliday

Biography

Jason focuses his practice on commercial litigation, a field that rarely gives him the same day twice. He counsels corporate clients on insurance, construction, and employment matters, and advises on a variety of pre-litigation issues. Jason is experienced in handling litigation matters from initial pleadings through to resolution in areas including insurance coverage and bad faith, breach of contract, workplace injury, personal liability, and employment discrimination claims. A former Chicago police dispatcher, who spent years identifying and relaying essential information to first responders in emergency situations, he knows how to read a rapidly developing situation and deal with a variety of personalities in order to meet clients’ needs.

In addition, Jason has an international trade practice focusing on U.S. Customs compliance and export control compliance under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). His knowledge of federal Customs regulations allows him assist clients with tariff mitigation strategies and matters of classification and country of origin. Furthermore, Jason advises companies on export control commodity jurisdiction and licensing.

Jason understands no two matters are similar, and he makes a point to view every situation facing a client through multiple lenses. Originally from Costa Rica, Jason lived overseas for much of his early life. Seeing the world through a variety of cultures makes him adept at issue spotting and enables him to find every possible avenue to meet clients’ short- and long-term goals.
